Best Outdoor Date Night Spots in Waterloo Region

No matter if it'll be your first date or your 200th date, you still need a good spot. This is my list of some of the most unique outdoor spots in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge.

To start the list off, I'm going to start with typical and cheesy.

Waterloo Park

50 Young St. W., Waterloo, ON

Waterloo Park is one of the best parks in the region for an experience. Located by both University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, and easily accessible by Grand River Transit (GRT). There is so much to do in this spacious park including stopping to visit the petting zoo that they have on site. This spot is perfect for something like a first date because it's relaxed (and public) so you can have a great time without all of the pressure to keep a conversation going every moment. Even if the date doesn't earn a second, at least this way you'd get your steps in.

No matter if it's summer or winter, my next one is for those slightly more adventurous or active couples.

Chicopee Ski and Summer Resort

396 Morrison Rd., Kitchener, ON

The winter at Chicopee is your local spot for everything skiing. They have trails and slopes for every experience level. In the winter, they also run a tube park down the other side of the hill. Come the summer, you can play a round or two of tennis, get your toes in the sand in their beach volleyball courts, or even go on an adventure with the disk golf course. I have personally done their disk golf and loved every minute of it (...sunburn and all).

If you two love the beach, but hate the driving, the next one is for you.

Bingemans Big Splash

425 Bingemans Centre Dr., Kitchener, ON

The Big Splash waterpark at Bingemans is a must do if you're in the region for the day. This is the place in the region for the ultimate water day with a ton of different water slides and attractions. Then once the sun goes down, Bingemans offers many indoor attractions as well including bowling, escape rooms, and a Boston Pizza restaurant on-site.

If falling leaves and pumpkin spice lattes are your thing, then this next one is for you.

Yee Haw Adventure Farm

1817 8th Concession, Cambridge, ON

Yee Haw is a light-hearted adventure that's fun for kids and adults alike. They offer a wide variety of fall-related activities such as a petting farm, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, and what fall adventure would be complete without a hay ride? Not only is this a super spot for an easygoing, adventure date, but photos here also look great on the 'gram.

My fifth and final recommendation (...for this list anyways) is my favourite and you can probably guess why...
